Obituary for Sharyn K. Rissler (Martin)

Sharyn K. Rissler, 47, of Akron, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at her residence.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of Mary E. (Royer) Martin and the late M. Dale Martin. She was the wife of Vincent P. Rissler.

She was a member of Grace EC Church, Akron, where she was involved with children's programs, senior choir and praise team, small group leader and Sunday school teacher. Sharyn was a 1986 graduate of Ephrata High School and was a member of the 1986 District 3 Girls Basketball Championship team. She was a sports enthusiast especially when it involved her children. She was a day care worker at Helping Hands and had previously worked for the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau and Learning Ladder Day Care.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by 3 children, Kaylyn E. Rissler, Myranda L. Rissler and Bryce D. Rissler; 3 sisters, Robin, wife of Lori Haley, Beth, wife of Perry Lorah and Deana, wife of Butch Long.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Graydon.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 18, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Grace EC Church, 101 N. 7th St., Akron. An additional viewing will take place on Saturday, April 19, from 10 to 11 am, followed by her funeral service at 11 am, with Rev. Leslie Cool officiating. Interment will take place in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Sharyn's memory may be made to the Sharyn Rissler Children's Memorial Fund. Checks to be made out to Akron Grace EC and sent to Grace EC Church, P.O. Box 235, Akron, PA 17501.
