Obituary for Kenneth E. Messner

Kenneth E. Messner, 68, of Denver, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was born in Denver, son to the late Henry and Elsie (Saylor) Messner and was the husband of Patricia A. (Beamsderfer) Messner, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage on June 20th.

He was a member of St. John's UCC in Denver, and the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc., Chapter B. He was a fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers, and loved riding his motorcycle, going to the mountains, and especially spending time with his family who greatly loved him.

Prior to working in the maintenance dept. at the Ephrata Community Hospital, Kenneth worked as a carpenter. He was presently employed part-time at the Garden Spot Auto Auction.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Daniel Messner of Denver, 2 daughters, Jodi, wife of Daren Myers of Denver, and Kristi, wife of Troy Kohl of Denver; 7 grandchildren, Kayla, Alex, Alyson, Colin, Austin, Drew, and Ellie; and 3 great-granddaughters, Olyvia, Adylin, and Brylee.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 3 pm, on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at St. John's UCC, 659 S. 4th Street, Denver. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm, with Pastor David R. Brumbaugh officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
