Obituary for Kenneth James Sheehan

Kenneth James Sheehan, 65, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Spangler, PA to the late Elmer and Jane (Conrad) Sheehan and was the husband of Donna (Brown) Sheehan with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Ken was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata. He was a 1966 graduate of Ephrata High School and retired from Case New Holland as a machinist. Ken was a member of the Father Daley Council #4191 Knights of Columbus, Ephrata Amvets Post #136, a life member of the Akron Volunteer Fire Company and life member of the Akron Fire Police. He served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed woodworking and model trains.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Thomas D., husband of Kimberly (Bloom) Sheehan of New Holland, J. Anthony, husband of Angela (Witwer) Sheehan of Ephrata, Timothy A., husband of Gina (Malpeli) Sheehan of Sinking Spring; 7 grandchildren, Hayley, Reagan, Madelyn, Victoria, Logan, Cody and Patrick Sheehan; a sister, Susan Sheehan of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Sheehan and a sister, Janet Wanner.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th St., Akron. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, August 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at Our Mother Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 320 Church Avenue, Ephrata. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with full military honors accorded.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to the Akron Volunteer Fire Company, 1229 Main St., Akron, PA 17501.
