Obituary for Paul F. Miller Jr.

Paul F.  Miller Jr.
Paul F. Miller, Jr., 65, of Reinholds, entered into rest on Monday, October 13, 2014, at home under hospice care, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Reading to Paul F. and Emma (Zieber) Miller, and was the former husband of Tracy (Beamesderfer) Miller.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church in Reamstown, Band of Brothers of the Church, Fraternal Order of Police, and served as a volunteer with the West Lawn F.D., Mohnton F.D., and Governor Mifflin Ambulance Services. Paul was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Nascar, and the Phillies. He enjoyed classic cars, and following his daughters' college teams.

Paul was a graduate of the Reading High School class of 1967 and the Reading Police Academy. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Paul worked as a police officer for Cumru Twp., retiring in June of 2013. He formerly served with the Mohnton Police Department and earlier worked as a mechanic for Lindgren Chrysler Plymouth for 19 years.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Heather L. and Alysha R. Miller, both of Reinholds; two brothers, Michael David, husband of Tammy Miller of Lenhartsville, PA, and David Michael, husband of Holly Miller of Mohnton; and two sisters, Vickie, wife of Charles Lavigna of Sinking Spring, and Diane, wife of Robert Adams of Womelsdorf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott P. Miller, and a sister, Donna Puksar.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 10 to 11 am at the St. Pauls Evangelical Congregational Church, 46 E. Church St., Reamstown, where funeral services will be held at 11 am, with his pastor, Reverend Kirk R. Marks officiating. Full honors will be presented by the Fraternal Order of Police. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
