Obituary for Grace B. Redcay

Grace B. Redcay, 92, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Wyomissing Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Boyertown to Amos and Edna (Benfield) Hartman, and was the wife of the late Harold W. Redcay, who died in 2006.

She enjoyed old-time country music and square dancing, for which she and her husband were figure callers.

Grace worked for Cinderella Knitting Mills in the earlier years, and retired from Quinlan Pretzels.

Grace is survived by 3 children, Ray R., husband of Judith V. (Peters) Redcay of Denver, Fern F. Sonon of Hamburg, and Harold W. Redcay, Jr. of Bull Head City, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a step-sister, Mildred Reber of Wernersville, and a step-brother, Gary Hartman of Reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene W. Redcay, a daughter, Evelyn M. Redcay, a brother, a step-brother, 2 step-sisters, Alice Conrad and Mary Haas, and multiple other step-sisters, nephews and nieces.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, where funeral services will follow at 11 am, with Pastor Tim Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
