Obituary for William Ecenroad, Jr.

William Ecenroad, Jr., 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Fairmount Homes.

He was born in Denver to the late William and Minnie (Holtsinger) Ecenroad and was the husband of Orpha (Crouse) Ecenroad .

William was a member of the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Lititz, a former member and Deacon at the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and volunteering and gardening at Fairmount Homes. He had worked for the Bayer Co., Myerstown and was farming in his early years.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bruce, husband of Denise (Rudolph) Ecenroad of Schaefferstown; a daughter, Kay, wife of Glenn Weaver of Lititz; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Rosene Ecenroad, 3 sisters, Kathryn, wife of Lester Good of Ephrata, Anna Hahn of Akron, Arlene, wife of Raymond Zimmerman of Akron.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Garry Ecenroad; a half-brother, Chester Eshelman; 2 half-sisters, Mary Mast and Esther Shennonberger.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 31, at 7 p.m, at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Rd., Lititz, with Pastors Paul Brubaker and Ivan Lutz officiating. Private interment will take place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
