Obituary for Charlotte I. Hartman

Charlotte I. Hartman, 84, of Ephrata, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Farmersville to the late Lemon and Cora (Zimmerman) Leicy and was the wife of the late Harold J. Hartman who passed away in 1997.

Charlotte was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Lancaster, where she had been a member of the choir. She was a former member of the Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, Ephrata, where she was the church organist for many years. Charlotte loved music, especially sacred music, playing the piano, enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She retired in 2005 from Blakinger, Byler and Thomas law firm as a receptionist/secretary.

She is survived by a son, Andrew T. Hartman of Lancaster; 2 daughters, Pamela D., wife of Duane Kurtz of Lancaster, Chrystelle, wife of Paul Masciantonio of Wallingford; 7 grandchildren, Keri Shultz, Abigail (Abby) Crosby, Albert Kurtz, Lauren Masciantonio, Christopher Hartman, Anna Masciantonio, Tara Hartman; 3 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Christian and Charlotte Shultz and a sister, Pearl Kilhefner of Ephrata.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Stanley and Victor Leicy; a sister, Grace Zimmerman.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Rd., Lancaster, followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mark Russell officiating. Interment will take place in the Bergstrasse Cemetery, Ephrata.
