Arlene Y. Gress, 84, of Reinholds, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Berks Heim Nursing Home in Leesport.

She was born in Vinemont to the late Stephen and Bertha (Yoh) Reinhold and was the wife of Elam C. Gress, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

She was a member of the Vinemont Community Lutheran Church in Reinholds, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed sewing, canning and cooking.

In the early years, Arlene worked for the Berkshire Knitting Mill, Zips Candy Co. and Valley Forge Flag Co.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Rodney L. Gress at home, and Carl D., husband of Beth (Lesniak) Gress of Reinholds; 4 grandchildren, Carl and Christopher of Florida, and Allison and Jonathan of Reinholds; and a brother, Richard, husband of Claudia Reinhold of Sinking Spring.

A viewing for the family will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 533 Walnut Street, Denver, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Reverend Elmer Reinhold officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
