Barbara Ann (Snyder) Kephart, 74, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at her residence, after a courageous battle with melanoma.

She was born on December 5, 1940, in Concord, PA to the late James and Valera (Shoop) Snyder and was the wife of the late Gary Kephart Sr. with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Barbara retired from the Department of Transportation. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her 4 grandchildren. Barbara was a generous, loving, selfless woman. Her passion was taking care of others.

She is survived by 4 children, Tracy Ann, wife of Joseph J. Banik of Ephrata, Gary Jr., husband of Melissa (James) Kephart of Sykesville, MD, Leslie Ann Lambert of York, Jennifer Lynn, wife of Robert Hadley of Spring Mills; 4 grandchildren, Katie Banik, Ava Kephart, Ella Hadley, Allison Lambert and 8 brothers and sisters.


A prayer service will take place on Friday, January 30, at 6 pm, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 330 Church Ave., Ephrata, with Father John J. McLoughlin, C.SS.R. as celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
