Judith "Judy" V. Redcay, 74, of Ephrata, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Ephrata to the late Frank D. and Amy (Foltz) Peters and was the wife of Ray R. Redcay, with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage on January 4th.
A 1959 graduate of Ephrata H.S., she enjoyed family get-togethers, embroidery, sewing, gardening, painting, baking, dancing, and riding her motor scooter.
In the early years, Judy worked as a seamstress for Terry Manufacturing, and also in the deli at Weaver Markets.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by 2 daughters, Valerie L., wife of Stephen M. Olesh of Bethel, and Raeanne R., wife of Douglas Enck of Ephrata; 3 granddaughters, Shellbi K. Olesh, Angela R. Enck, and Cassandra L. Enck; and a brother, Carmen, husband of Rose Peters of Ephrata.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Peters; and 2 sisters, Phyllis and Patsy.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, from 9 to 10 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am, with Pastor Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
