Obituary for Margaret L. Gehman

Margaret L.  Gehman
Margaret L. Gehman, 81, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Manor Care, Lancaster.

She was born in Reading to the late Winfield S.F. and Laura (Epler) Werner and was the wife of Willard H. Gehman, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

She was a member of the Lancaster Alliance Church, and enjoyed reading, traveling, making crafts, and spending time with family.

In the early years Margaret owned a Christian Book Store at the Green Dragon, and was last employed as a hostess for the Hampton Inn, Ephrata.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by a son, Randy A., husband of Loretta (Good) Gehman of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathy, wife of William Stanley of Ephrata; 3 grandchildren, Andrew and Bethany Gehman, and Laura "Nikki" Thornton; and 2 great-grandchildren, Leslie and Brian Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet, wife of Doug Enck; 4 brothers, W. Alton, Ralph M., Robert C., and Victor A. Werner; and 2 sisters, Ruth Naomi Piper and L. Eleanor Fisher.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 7 to 8 pm at the Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster. Funeral services will follow at 8 pm, with Pastor Carl McGarvey officiating. A private interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to the Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
