Obituary for Mildred Zimmerman

Mildred (Mick) H. Zimmerman entered into eternal rest on March 25, 2015.

She was born on November 7, 1926 in Clay, PA to the late Ruth (Johns) and John Hummer. She was the wife of the late John M. Metzler and the late Harold L. Zimmerman who preceded her in death in 2009.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Mark) Bleecker, Lancaster, Bruce (Brenda) Metzler, Ephrata, Denise (David) Currin, Livonia, MI and Matthew Zimmerman, Mount Joy. She treasured her grandchildren Heather (Kevin) Good, Mountville, Bret (Renee) Smith, Manheim, Eric (Kristin) Reese, Chicago, IL, Brandon (Anita) Reese, Parma, OH, Matthew (Jennie) Currin, Jeffersontown, KY, David Bleecker, Lancaster, Michelle (James) McEleney, St. Croix, VI, Bradleigh Bleecker, Lancaster, and her nine great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jared Smith, Caleb and Nathan Good, Vincent and Joseph Reese, Addison Reese and Bennett and Lyra Currin. She is survived by one brother, Leon (Lois) Hummer, Lititz and one sister, Dorothy Allen, Tucson, AZ. One brother, Clayton Hummer, preceded her in death in 1936.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, at the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 pm. Interment will be private in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mildred's memory may be made to Brethren Village Good Samaritan Fund, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606.
