Obituary for Rachel R. Martin (Stauffer)

Rachel R. Martin, 93, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Lincoln Christian Home, Ephrata.

She was born in Martindale to the late Daniel B. and Barbara W. (Reich) Stauffer and was the wife of Clayton S. Martin.

Rachel was a member of the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, Curvin S., husband of Grace (High) Martin of Ephrata, Gerald S., husband of Mabel (Hoover) Martin of Lititz, Brian R., husband of Mary Jane (Hursh) Martin of Lititz; 4 daughters, Minerva S., wife of Earl Brubaker of Loysville, Ruth N., wife of Mervin Martin of Lititz, Barbara E., wife of Melvin Martin of Ephrata, Mildred S., wife of Ivan Zimmerman of Ephrata; 34 grandchildren; 131 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 grandchild; 1 great-grandchild; 5 brothers, Adam, Jared, Isaac, Carmi and Caleb Stauffer; 3 sisters, Eva Stauffer, Naomi Auker and Magdalena Mitchell.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, at 8:45 am, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, with further services at 9:30 am, at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, 200 Meadow Valley Rd., Ephrata, with Bishop Lester B. Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
