Ruth C. Gehman, 91, of Denver, formerly of Ephrata and Sinking Spring, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Wide Hollow, Terre Hill to the late George W.S. and Fannie (Smith) Carles.

Ruth worked as a seamstress for the Coatesville VA Medical Center, and after retirement she became a volunteer there as well.

Ruth is survived by a son, Randal, husband of Sandra Gehman of Denver; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Howard M. Gehman who died in 1977; a son, John Gehman; and 9 siblings.

Graveside services will be private, in the Steinmetz Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
