Obituary for Arlene Elizabeth Hertzog (Buch)

Arlene Elizabeth (Buch) Hertzog, 97, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in Akron to the late Harry and Nora (Hackman) Buch Brubaker and was the wife of the late Fred F. Hertzog.

Arlene was a member of the Metzler Mennonite Church where she was part of the sewing circle. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, quilting and had sewn over a thousand comfort tops.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy B., wife of Leon N. Hurst of Ephrata; a daughter-in-law, Arlene S. (Hess) Hertzog of Ephrata; a sister-in-law, Esther White of Narvon; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son Kenneth B. Hertzog; 2 brothers, Roy and Arthur Buch.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 3, from 9 to 10:30 am, at the Metzler Mennonite Church, 515 W. Metzler Road, Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 10:30 am, with Pastors Nevin Horning, Richard Buch and Lee Roy Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
