Janet A. Shimp, 71, of Denver, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Clay Township, the daughter of Anna Steinmetz. She was the wife of Kenneth D. Shimp, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage this month.

Janet loved animals, especially dogs, and she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

She formerly worked as a machine operator for the Cinderella Knitting Mill for 30 years.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by 2 daughters, Shelby M. Shafer and companion, Donald "Smoke" of Snyder County, and Sharon L. Shimp of Denver.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Clyde.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
