Obituary for Joletta Fahnestock Nebel

Joletta Fahnestock  Nebel
Joletta Fahnestock Nebel, age 52, of Camp Hill, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from the effects of breast cancer.

She was born May 14, 1964 in Ephrata, PA to Joanne Eberly (and husband Bill) LeFever of Ephrata and the late Victor Fahnestock.

Joletta graduated from Ephrata High School, Class of 1982 and received her undergraduate degree in 1986 at Shippensburg University. She received a Master’s degree in Humanities at Shippensburg University and also earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Millersville University. She worked at Cumberland Valley High School for 16 years as an English teacher and 9 years as a counselor with CAIU at St. Joseph Catholic School in Mechanicsburg. Joletta enjoyed cooking, reading, movies and the arts. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed caring for her pets.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles R. “Chuck” Nebel, Jr. of Camp Hill; two sisters, Jonelle Fahnestock of Columbus, OH and Jadene (and husband Dale) Henly of Lebanon; and nephews, Matt and Kurt Henly, both of Lebanon. Joletta will be dearly missed by her countless friends.

There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 W. Middle Creek Road, Lititz, PA followed by a graveside service at 7:00 p.m. at the adjoining church cemetery. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. There will be a visitation on Wednesday at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, PO Box 311, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
