Obituary for Daniel E. Wenger

Daniel E. Wenger, 89, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Fairmount Homes. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Harry and Edna Wenger. He was the husband of Mildred K. Wenger of Ephrata for 70 years.
Daniel raised chickens on a small farm near Mt. Airy. After retiring from farming, his hobby was purchasing and refinishing furniture to donate to Jubilee Ministries in Lebanon. He loved to travel. He and Mildred volunteered at the Ephrata Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Reuzit Shop and toured with MCC and Mennonite Disaster Service groups in different parts of the country and globe. They took bus trips with Bob Neff Tours. Daniel was a member of Gehman Mennonite Church.

In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by 5 children: Daniel K. married to Janet (High) of Denver, PA, Barbara married to Jonas Borntrager of Harrisonburg, VA, Harry married to Bev (Derstine) of Stevens, PA, Rachel Kreamer of Stevens, PA, and Jim married to Vicki (Dietz) of Stuartstown, PA. Dan has 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Wheatridge Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, on Saturday, August 27, 2016, for a visitation 1 to 2 PM, and a memorial service from 2 to 3 PM, to be officiated by Rev. Irvin Martin. Interment will take place at Gehman Mennonite Church with Rev. Phil Horning officiating.
