Daniel O. Messner, 86, of Denver, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Allison and Sarah (Kessler) Messner and was the husband of the late Lorraine (Echternach) Messner who passed away in 2006.

He was a member of St. John's UCC in Denver. Daniel was a wrestling fan, loved John Deere tractors and had attended many tractor pulls. He also loved his dog named Rainbow. He was a hard worker and well loved by everyone.

Daniel worked as a bricklayer and mason for many years.

Daniel is survived by 3 children, Bill Messner, Mike, husband of Bonnie Messner, and Lisa Messner, all of Denver; 2 granddaughters, Melissa, wife of Eric Ferris, and Heidi Schwartz; 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jase Ferris, Lexi, Austin, and Kyle Schwartz; a cousin, Irene Miller; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Shank.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Wenrich.

Services will be private at the Fairview Cemetery Annex, Denver.
