Vera M. Martin, 77, of East Earl, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in East Earl to the late Henry Z. and Edna K. (Martin) Martin and was the wife of Lawrence W. Martin with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

She was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church-Weaverland Conference.

Vera was a Homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Vera is survived by 6 children, Wilmer Martin, at home, Marie, wife of Lewis Martin of Newville, Marlene Martin, at home, Rachel, wife of Stanley Seibel of Lawrence, MS, Glenn, husband of Grace (Boll) Martin of East Earl, Lamar, husband of Doris (Horst) Martin of Leola; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 siblings, Lloyd, husband of Esther (Gehman) Martin of Broadtop, Clyde, husband of Shirley (Sample) Martin of East Earl, Miriam, wife of Marvin Weaver of East Earl, Mary, wife of Wilbur Wenger of Dalton, OH, Samuel, husband of Kathleen (Hinerdeer) Martin of New Holland.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the Farm Crest Chapel, Fairmont Homes. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016, at 9 AM, at Farm Crest Chapel, with further services at 9:30 AM, at Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl with Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
