Obituary for Shirley Ann High

Shirley Ann  High
Shirley Ann High, 81, of Stevens, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, at home.

She was born January 11, 1935, in Martindale, to the late Isaac B. and Anna (Zoll) Weaver and was the wife of J. Clair High, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Shirley was a long time member of Blainsport Mennonite Church in Reinholds, where she was very active. She volunteered at the Reamstown Fire Co. Auxiliary and Ambulance, Landis Homes, Lancaster County Poultry Assoc., MCC, and Woodcrest. Family was always extremely important to Shirley. She enjoyed volunteering, writing letters, going on trips, camping with family, sports, and was an avid Phillies fan. She loved playing Haus and Pinochle, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 6 sons, Gary, husband of Cecilia, Jay, husband of Star, Dennis, husband of Connie, Kevin, husband of Holly, Curtis, husband of Joan, Darrell husband of Cindy, and a daughter, Lori; 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert (Linda), Kenneth (Esther), and Jay (Linda).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clair, a sister, June Weaver, and a brother, Larry Weaver.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 2, from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 3, from 9 am until the time of service, at 10 am, at the Blainsport Mennonite Church, 85 S. Blainsport Road, Reinholds, with Pastor Eric Marshall officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
