Obituary for Robert E. Mohn

Robert E. Mohn, 91, of Ephrata, passed away, on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Keystone Villa, Ephrata, after an extended illness.

Born in Adamstown, he was the son of the late Warren and Irene Mohn. He was a graduate of Ephrata High School and attended Franklin and Marshall College and Penn State University.

Robert left college to fight for his country in 1944 as a nose gunner on a B24 Bomber with the 15th Army Air Force in Italy. He was a veteran of 18 combat missions over Germany.

Robert worked and retired from his family’s business, Cloister Dairies and Cloister Spring Water Co., in Ephrata. His responsibilities included overseeing the production of milk and ice cream products and later the bottled water production. He served on the Northern Lancaster County Advisory Board for Core States/Hamilton Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Doline, of 63 years; a brother Richard E. Mohn of Lancaster and Naples, FL; a son, R. Michael Mohn of New Providence; 2 daughters, Sandra Thompson of Mt. Joy and Judith Errigo of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca Crawford, Andrew Mohn, Katie Errigo, Matthew Thompson, and Madison Mohn; 2 great-grandchildren, Rivers Crawford and Tucker Crawford.

Robert enjoyed playing golf, traveling the world, listening to jazz music, classic foreign cars and attending Sunday Polo games in Rothsville.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 10 to 11 AM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 11 AM. Interment will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Adamstown.
