A graduate of Hillsboro High School, he continued his education at Bethel College in N. Newton, KS, where he received a BA in economics. He had worked for former Victor F. Weaver, Inc. (now Tyson), and Latshaw Bros. Concrete, Inc., in Denver, where he was the comptroller.

In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by a daughter, Crystal, wife of Christopher Perry of York, a son, Clinton Becker, husband of Christine Baek of Brooklyn, NY; 3 grandsons, Connor and Ryan Perry, and Ethan Becker; 6 siblings, Geneva Becker of Hillsboro, KS, Lois (Clifford) Unruh of Hillsboro, KS, Norma (Gary) Gossen of Corn, OK, Elaine (Ron) Saunders of Newton, KS, David (Kathy) Becker of Belton, MO, and Curt Becker of Hillsboro, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Balepur and his team at the Anne Barshinger Cancer Center, and the Hospice and Community Care staff for their compassionate care throughout Eugene's long illness.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 2 to 3 pm at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm, with Chaplain Nilda Roman officiating. Interment will take place in the Mellingers Union Cemetery.
