Obituary for Erwin S. Sensenig

Erwin S.  Sensenig
Erwin S. Sensenig, 95, of Stevens, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at home.

He was born in Earl Township to the late Aaron M. and Mary Z. (Sensenig) Sensenig and was the husband of Mabel H. (Zimmerman) Sensenig with whom he shared 74 years of marriage.

He was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church.

Erwin was a welder and a farmer. He loved to travel, especially to the cabin in Huntingdon County and Florida. He also loved life and the Bible, which he read through 3 times.

In addition to his wife, Erwin is survived by 8 children, Sally A., wife of Amos R. Arment of East Earl, Erwin S. Jr., husband of Jeanine Sensenig, of Maine, Rose M., wife of Elmer Stoltzfus of Stevens, William L., husband of Mary Jane Sensenig of Stevens, Thomas L. husband of Tammy Sensenig of Ephrata, Donald R., husband of Sharon Sensenig of Ephrata, Larry J., husband of Rheta Sensenig of Narvon, Nelson M., husband of Sharon Sensenig of New Holland; a daughter-in-law, Carol Sensenig of Lebanon; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Keller, husband of Roseine Sensenig of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Sensenig; a grandson, Trevor Gockley; 4 brothers and a sister.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 5 to 8 PM at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, from 9 to 10 AM followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Pastor Eugene Weaver officiating. Interment will take place in the Martindale Mennonite Cemetery.
