Arlene M. Heck, 86, of Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Gardens at Stevens Nursing Home.

She was born in West Cocalico Township to Norman and Lillilan (Hehnly) Shiffler and was the wife of the late W. Eugene Heck who passed away in 1987.

She was a member of Mellingers Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Schoeneck Fire Co. She enjoyed reading and gardening, and was a great cook.

Arlene worked for Weave Corp. of Denver for 35 years.

Arlene is survived by a daughter, Connie E., wife of Robert Hackman of Schoeneck, a son, Ronald E., husband of Helga (Hentschl) Heck of Stevens; 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey Hackman, husband of Wendy, and Timothy Hackman, companion of Courtney, Elizabeth, wife of Joel Henderson, and Tyler Heck; 3 great-grandchildren, Makensie, Alexa, and Colby; 4 sisters, Patricia, wife of Dale Showers of Lititz, Beverly Sweigart of Ephrata, Nancy, wife of Larry Weachter of Hopeland, and Sandra, wife of Donald Reynolds of Schoeneck.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Shiffler.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm, at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. An additional viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 am, at Mellingers Evangelical Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Rev. Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Mellinger's Lutheran Cemetery.
