Obituary for Eugene N. Hufford

Eugene N. Hufford, 90, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Ephrata Manor.

He was born in Farmersville to the late William H. and Mabel (Getz) Hufford and was the husband of Louise E. (Lefever) Hufford with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

He was a member of Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church.

Eugene was a diesel mechanic for Eastern Industry before retiring in 1988 where he was also a member of the Teamsters. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 1st Calvary Division 99th AFA in the Philippines and Japan was a member of Cocalico Post #3376 V.F.W., F. O.P. Lodge #66 and Moose Lodge 229. Eugene was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan and gathered a huge baseball card collection.

In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by a stepson, Roy, husband of Terry Lefever of Jonestown, a grandson, Nicholas Lefever; a step-granddaughter, Jessica, wife of Richard Rabuck of Jonestown; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Reagan and Abigail Rabuck; 2 step-sisters, Jean Burkholder of Lancaster, June Gamber of Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene N, Hufford, Jr. and a sister, Esther (Hufford) Martin.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
