Jay G. Brossman, 87, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on March 22, 2017, at the Masonic Villages, Health Center, Elizabethtown. He was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Yarack) Brossman. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, J. Glenn Brossman, a brother, Harold Brossman, and his first wife, Betty (Roth) Brossman

Jay is survived by his wife, Sally Kinzey; 2 children, Brenda, wife of John Shreiner, Ephrata, and Judy, wife of Edward Berger, Reading; 6 grandchildren, Michelle, wife of Justin Walzl, Betty, wife of Matthew Foulkrod, Justin Hinden, husband of Olivia, Joshua Brossman, Michael Brossman, and Edward J. Berger, husband of Frances; 5 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Paige, Nicholas, Calleigh, and Owen; 2 step-sons, Douglas, husband of Randi Baker Kinzey, and Curtis Kinzey; 3 step-grandchildren, Alex, Evan and Andrea Kinzey; 4 sisters, Amelia Erb, Cecilia Lausch, Doris Harker, and Eleanor Hartranft.

Jay, for 62 years, was a 32° Master Mason of the Ephrata Lodge #665, dual member of the Abraham Treichler Lodge #682, Corinthian Lodge #35 Leadville, Colorado, Georgetown Lodge #12, Colorado, long time member of Rajah Shrine Temple, Reading, Scottish Rite Consistory of Reading, Elizabethtown Shrine Club, Aviation Interest Group, Elizabethtown Chapter #407 Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #2 Leadsville, Colorado OES and member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church.

As a life well spent "doing it my way", Jay, also known as Jay Bee, at the age of 17 hitch hiked 5,990 miles from PA to CA and back in 13 days, was a lifetime motorcyclist, had a hand flying Cessna airplane, retired to be an avid snow skier, traveling all around then living in Colorado to ski 250 days a year. Jay had been the owner of Brossman Orchard, entrepreneur, home builder and developer.

A viewing will be held at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, on Sunday from 6-8 pm. An additional viewing will be held at the Sell Chapel in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, on Monday, from 10 to 11 am, followed by a celebration of life funeral service at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jay's memory may be made to Muddy Creek Lutheran Church or the Masonic Villages, Elizabethtown.
