Obituary for Roy H. Buch

Roy H. Buch, 92, of Ephrata, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Ephrata Manor, after a short illness.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Harry and Nora (Hackman) Buch Brubaker and was the husband of the late Viola M. (Esbenshade) Buch with whom he shared 68 years of marriage before her passing in 2009.

He was a member of Metzler Mennonite Church, Ephrata, where he served as a trustee for many years. Roy was an area resident all of his life and a farmer. Upon retiring from farming, he was the owner of Roy H. Buch, Inc. Farm Equipment. He enjoyed life, including hunting, fishing, golfing and winters in Florida. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Roy is survived by his children, Janet M., wife of David Good of Elida, OH, Richard E., husband of Kathryn (Martin) Buch of Akron, Roy E., husband of Marlene (Landis) Buch of Ephrata, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a sister, Arlene E. Hertzog of Ephrata.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Arthur F. Buch.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 15, from 6 to 8 pm at the Metzler Mennonite Church, 515 W. Metzler Road, Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, February 16, from 9 to 10 am, followed by his funeral service at10 am at the Metzler Mennonite Church with Pastor Nevin Horning and Pastor Eugene Zoll officiating. Interment will take place in the Metzler Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roy's memory may be made to Metzler Mennonite Church, 515 W. Metzler Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.
