William Samuel Cox, 95, of Narvon, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Simpson Meadows, Downingtown.

He was born in Butte, MT to the late John and Beatrice (Bacon) Cox and was the husband of the late Winifred Cox. The family moved to Salt Lake City and then later to Los Angeles.

Bill attended Downingtown United Methodist Church and Rancks United Methodist Church, New Holland. He enlisted in the US Army Cavalry at the age of 18. He earned a private pilot license and had a piper cub until wartime. He had many interests including golf, music and playing the guitar.

He worked as a chemical engineer for Sharpless Corp. of Philadelphia, and later Las-Llaves of Venezuela for 30 years, where he was an executive design engineer for chemical plants and facilities.

William is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon Dae, wife of Raymond J. Meyers Jr. of Narvon, Winifred Roberta Jackson of Devon; 6 grandchildren, Robert Carl, husband of Carol Jackson, Kathryn Grace Jackson, Michael Patrick Jackson, companion of Ann Cornett, Raymond John, husband of Lucy Meyers III, William Edward, husband of Cindy Meyers, Jeffrey Bryan Meyers and 9 great grandchildren.

Service will be private at the convenience of the family.
