Obituary for Eugene G. Hoover

Eugene G.  Hoover
Eugene G. Hoover, born April 30, 1928, transitioned to heaven at Landis Homes on Sunday, May 22, 2016.

The son of Martin O. and Emma Good Hoover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Landis Hoover; a brother, Lloyd G.; a sister, Marian; a sister, Sarah Martin; a daughter, Joyce Seibel; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Evan E., Lititz; Donald L. (Jean Harnish), Lititz; two daughters, Shirley M., New Holland; Loretta S. (Mark) Eby, Mansfield, PA; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was an active member of Landis Valley Christian Fellowship. Eugene had a career in agriculture as a farmer, seed salesman and sales representative for Binkley and Hurst. He found outlets for his passion for service to others by sending hundreds of personalized greeting cards to family and friends celebrating special lifetime events. He was active in support of gospel ministry to prison inmates.

A viewing and family visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Bethany West Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 10:30 am, at the Landis Valley Christian Fellowship Church, 2420 Kissel Hill Rd., Lancaster. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
