Obituary for Paul R. Royer

Paul R.  Royer
Paul R. Royer, 72, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late Paul A. and Marie A. (Hennessey) Royer and was the husband of Vickey A. Royer with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.

Paul worked as a Sr. Right-of-Way Agent in the natural gas pipeline industry the majority of his working career. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Paul enjoyed music, movies and working outdoors on his lawn and gardens. Additionally, he enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar races, football games, hockey games and forever was a huge Penn State fan. Paul was a generous man with a very big heart who enjoyed meeting people, was always loved by his family and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Christian B. Royer of Ephrata, Connor R. Royer of Ephrata; two daughters, Renee M., wife of Jared Penland of TX, Candace S., wife of Chad Crawford of AR; five grandchildren, Declan Royer, Quinn and Emery Penland, Abigail and Carlie Crawford; 2 step-children, Julie L., wife of Kevin Barnett of MO, Brian J., husband of Jordan Wortsmith of AZ; five step-grandchildren, Jillian, Ellie and Kallie Barnett, Duncan and Evan Wortsmith; a brother, David F., husband of Lisa Royer of TX; two sisters, Ann Fleckenstein of TX and Margy R. wife of Alan Boal of PA.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 8 to 9 am, followed by a Memorial Service at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Pine Hall Cemetery, State College, PA.

Memorial contributions in Paul's memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
