Obituary for Mabel H. Sauder

Mabel H. Sauder, 61, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Fairmount Homes, after a 7 year courageous fight with cancer.

She was born in Clay Township to Katie (Horning) Hoover of Ephrata and the late Aaron W. Hoover. She was the wife of Kenneth M. Sauder of Ephrata.

Mabel was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. She was a homemaker and part owner, with her husband, of Ken’s Educational Joys.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by 5 brothers, Melvin H., husband of Martha (Rieff) Hoover of Leola, John H., husband of Ruth Ann (Garman) Hoover of Marietta, Marvin H., husband of Anna Mary (Brubaker) Hoover of Womelsdorf, Moses H., husband of Arlene (Nolt) Hoover of Myerstown, Aaron H., husband of Edna (Oberholtzer) Hoover of Bethel; 42 nieces and nephews; 160 great nieces and nephews; an extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Weaver Fox, Randall, husband of Marilyn (Brubaker) Fox, Julie (Fox), wife of Nevin Brubaker, Lanita (Fox), wife of Lydell Zimmerman, Jessica (Fox), wife of Terrill Zimmerman, Kristina (Fox), wife of Matthew Hursh.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae H. Hoover.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, at 9 am, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, with further services at 9:30 am, at the Martindale Mennonite (Frame) Church, 905 Martindale Road, Ephrata, with Bishops Amos G. Martin and Paul Martin, Ministers, Paul Hurst, Jr. and Amos K. Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
