Your Daughter Sherry who misses you very much.
Dad You were so good to all of our family. The 90 years that I had with you were to short. You went away to WWII when I was 6 months old and I thank God that you came home safely. You were a wonderful husband to mom and a great dad to us kids. You were a hard worker and loved to visit with your family and eat ice cream and sneak candy and cookies when mom wasn't watching you. This year you are in heaven rejoicing in the victory of our Savior, Jesus who conquered death. Praise the Lord for His gift of eternal life to all who believe in Him. We all miss you but we know you are safe with Jesus. We will see you soon. Love, Sherry John 3:16

It's just so hard to believe and accept the fact that you are now gone. God has givin you such an amazing life of 90 year! I'm belessed to have known you for 23 of them. I remember it like it was yesterday when we would come to visit and you and grandma you guys always had to make sure we had our snacks. I will never forget the grahman crackers with the marshmellow on top being blown up in the microwave! That was always my favorite!! Or the mounds of ice cream pop use to serve us when Tim and I visited with them last. I will never forget the many war stories, family get togethers in your basement, and the work out bike we use to play on. You and Ona never failed being there for us kids growing up! It was such a pleasure to have had a Great Grandfather in my life, and you were perfect for the part! Rest in peace Poppy!! Love you forever!!

Pop, We're so thankful for the time we got to spend together before the Lord called you Home. We loved hearing your wartime stories, visiting at your home, and making you laugh. One of my favorite memories is probably one of the most recent: Around the time that James was learning how to walk, we were visiting with you & Ona, Grandma Sherry, and Mom & Dad on a Sunday afternoon. We were all talking and playing with James, and suddenly he grabbed hold of Ona's walker and started pushing it around the living room! I'll never forget the way he made you laugh; it is a memory I'll treasure in my heart and I will tell it to James often as he's growing up, just so he can remember how much you loved him. We love you so much, and you'll be so missed, but it's selfish of us to want to keep you here on earth when we know you're in heaven... and don't have to eat sugar-free ice cream anymore! We'll see you again someday, Pop. Until then...
