Bill was a stickler for doing a job right. One time a number of us were installing equipment in the Denver Central Office. One technician, who will remain nameless, connected a large cable backward. We could have disconnected it, spliced the wires that were too short, and connected it correctly. That didn’t satisfy Bill. He had us completely remove the cable, run in a new one and connect it correctly. That was the right way to do it and Bill would not settle for anything less.
